Oct.8th to Oct.11th

Friday was a driving day went from Halifax to out side of Fredericton NB, so many RV places are closing down for the season now.Saturday we went in Saint John ans wondered the old part of the city they have a huge market place with lots of shops etc. right by the water and their shopping mall is also under ground with lots of over the road walk ways , because of the bad weather we assume.Had lunch on the pier at an old restaurant and had the best seafood chowder ever. Then we drove down part of the lighthouse route that runs along the Bay of Fundy  very pretty, drove old hwy back to Fredericton  a long  long road, Sunday happy Thanksgiving Canada, we are driving again today across the border and into Maine about a 7 hour drive, we are in Portland Maine no turkey dinner tonight.Monday we headed back to a place called Prospect to the Penobscot Narrows observatory and Fort Knox a state historic site. The observatory is in a bridge crossing the Penobscot river only one in the western hemisphere 420 feet high- that is 42 stories pretty view from in there,  the fort is an old historic fort built out of granite alot is underground and took 25 years to built,,yes I know another Fort I,m getting a little tired of them...On the way back we went down to the ocean to Old Orchard Beach that is way there is so many camoing spots and motel/ hotels and B&B's in this area, there is a 7 mile sandy beach with a huge pier containing lots of shops and restaurants an amusement park on the beach and a boardwalk with lots of things to do , most was shut down already for the winter but I can see that it would be a hopping summer attraction. Now I am cooking our Thanksgiving dinner and all I can say is thank you Jennie O frozen turkey, and stove top stuffing!! not the usual thanksgiving dinner but better than a frozen TV turkey dinner. Happy Thanksgiving Canada.
